Jurisdiction:
The U.S. Constitution provides that the U.S. Supreme Court is to exercise original jurisdiction in such matters as those in which a State is a party and those involving foreign ambassadors, and that the Court's appellate jurisdiction is subject to regulation by Congress. Congress has authorized the Court to, among other things, review decisions of the lower Federal courts and the highest courts of the States.
